Destination wedding in Portugal

Last summer I had the great opportunity to shoot my first destination wedding in Portugal with Carolina & David, a cute half-French half-Portuguese couple. Since I wanted to make the most of it, we met in Porto the day before their wedding so we could shoot an engagement session in the Portuguese capital. Our story started right there, on Gondarém beach, a beautiful white sand beach just outside Porto.

That engagement session was a great opportunity to get familiar with each other and a chance for Carolina & David to get used to my camera. We took some really good shots in the beautiful city of Porto. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as expected. David received a call from his best man who was supposed to land in the evening. He was stuck in France where air controllers had decided on a last minute strike! For David, this was devastating, and a great source of stress since most of his relatives was supposed to fly on that day to Portugal! In a way, he was lucky because the strike only affected the one airport his best man was flying from…

Getting ready in a typical Portuguese house

Carolina & David did not want to see each other before the ceremony at the church. So they got ready in separate houses located next to each other. David was helped by his mom, and I could tell she was very emotional about the wedding. At one point David took a letter out of an envelope and started reading it. The couple had this brilliant idea of exchanging letters on their wedding day, which they would read during the getting ready.

Carolina did read her letter too. But to do so, she sat by the window behind a curtain. In the old times, this is exactly the place where the bride would wait for her husband-to-be to come by the window and shout his love for her.

A wedding ceremony in Viseu, Portugal

The wedding ceremony took place in a magnificent church in the small town of Viseu. There was a lot of emotion going with speeches by the closest relatives, including David’s grandfather, a 90-year-old man who had traveled all the way from France!

Next to the church there was this superb court with Roman arches. I thought I’d do the portraits there.

Wedding party inside an hacienda

The party took place in an ancient hacienda, renovated for weddings. I was so happy to shoot in such a beautiful location. There were some great candid shots to take there during the cocktail. Especially around the swimming pool when the sun was going down.

This was a fantastic experience for me, and I can’t wait to shoot another wedding in Portugal!

Norwegian Destination Wedding in Tuscany

Annabel and Petter are a beautiful couple from Norway. For their Norwegian Destination Wedding, they chose the picturesque setting of the Tuscan hills and stayed with friends and relatives at the Relais Ciavatta in Montemerano. I joined the couple the day before the wedding to photograph them as engaged and capture with my shots the dinner of the night before and the dances.

On the wedding day, the sun shone high in the sky, the bride in the morning wanted to spend some time with her bridesmaids in the pool. Once ready, the groom and the bride met under the beautiful flowery arch set up for the occasion within the location. The ceremony was touching and very heartfelt.

After we moved to the center of Montemerano to realize the couple’s photographic session.

For dinner, we then returned to the location, where in another area of the structure the tables for the guests were elegantly set up. During dinner, the guests read their speeches. After dinner and after the traditional cut of the cake the party moved to the pool where between a cocktail and an ice cream the dances continued until late at night.

Kat Von D & Prayers – The most glamorous goth wedding – Celebrity Wedding in The Beverly Hills Hotel

Here we have some pictures of how was the wonderful goth wedding of Kat Von D & Prayers.

At this celebrity wedding, it all began with two very different rooms, one was white on white, and the other was red on red at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

When the guests arrived at the wedding, the first thing they saw was a majestic staircase with flowers and two opposite crosses of flowers that invited them to come down to a room where the only touch of color was given by the guests themselves, who had to wear black.

That room was an invitation to think that they were in a beautiful Gothic style church since they created authentic arches in the windows.

The guests had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious summer cocktail.

All guests took an exclusive and unique gift from Sephora, a lipstick that Kat Von D designed for her guest and will not be sold in stores.

This entire wedding was designed and implemented by the fantastic Wedding Planer Center of Attention Events.

Then doors opened inviting you into a red cave, fully decorated and illuminated with touches of skulls and crucifixes, and a sky covered with candles hanging as if you were entering the Harry Potter castle hall.

In the middle of the room, there was a castle cake with Kat Von D & Prayers at the door greeting each other. Yeah, on the cake door, isn’t it great?

When the guests were seated, everything was ready to begin the wedding ceremony.

The groom appeared in a beautiful Mexican costume with his face covered with a black veil, the bride in a stunning red dress, and red horns, also wearing a beautiful handmade veil,

with the most different bridesmaids, we have ever seen at a wedding; they were wearing the bride’s veil, dancing and wholly covered even the red face.

One of the most emotional moments of the wedding was the moment they read the vows, tears, laughter, and hugs happened at this moment.

Once married and ready to try the wonderful vegan dinner, the bride and groom shared complicit glances with each other.

The surprise of the evening was undoubtedly when a beautiful red Yamaha piano appeared in the center of the room, and Kat Von D approached him, played and sang in front of her guests to her already beloved husband.

And so with this wonderful song the bride and groom bid farewell to begin their honeymoon in a secret place…

We can’t forget all those people who worked to create this Hollywood super production.

Wedding in the Proschwitz Castle in Saxony, Germany

Castle Proschwitz is a private castle. It was built from 1701 to 1704. The Weingut Castle Proschwitz is today the oldest private winery in Saxony. Three formerly ecclesiastical winegrowing areas are managed here together with the highest quality requirements under the trademark of the Lippe’sche Rose. It was an excellent decision for Christian and Laura to celebrate the wedding in this castle. I want to show you some photos of the magnificent artistic wedding.
