Corinthia Hotel, Central London wedding photography

Every London Wedding I photograph is totally unique -that’s the beauty of having so many incredible wedding venues within one of the most interesting cities on the planet. This was my first time photographing a wedding at the opulent Corinthia Hotel, within a stones throw of the mighty River Thames. Being a central location I wasn’t surprised to see a massive Trade Union protest and march filing past the hotel as I arrived. Hoping it wouldn’t get too rowdy, I did what any documentary wedding photographer would do and incorporated it into the photography – it’s just another element that will take Hui and Jing back to the wedding day when they see the images.

After the ceremony in the Courtroom, we headed outside for a couple of group pictures and portraits, avoiding the still noisy protest, before heading back into the Ballroom for the evening meal and dancing. The Corinthia has a pretty impressive lighting setup, with very strong purple uplighters around the walls. While this gives a lovely warm ambience to the room, it can be pretty tricky to photograph. Luckily, between myself and the five man video crew, we managed to tame the light enough, especially during the all important First Dance.

Here are some of my favourite images from the day. Here’s even more Corinthia Hotel Wedding Pictures.

Dream Indian Wedding in Umbria | The Amazing Story of Pia and Francesco | Solfagnano Castle

This is the selection of our favorite photos from Pia & Francesco’s Indian wedding in Umbria. It’s just a small recap of several days of celebrations that took place at Solfagnano Castle, near Perugia. For almost a week the medieval building and the peaceful countryside around were shaken by the dances, colored by Saris and turbans. Indian moccasins decorated the monumental stairway to the flower covered wedding canopy where the happy couple were surrounded by their families and hundreds of friends. All around the castle there were little markets set up with typical furnitures and colorful fabrics, where the guests could relax and feel like home. A unique mix of Italian style and Indian taste.

Pia & Francesco | Dream Indian Wedding in Umbria – Italy

Venue: Solfagnano Castle

Just like a fairytale

Surrounded by a spectacular natural landscape, characterized by green vineyards, Alannah and Eros, a splendid Italo-Canadian couple, decided to celebrate their wedding by choosing a ceremony in the open air. A big success! This is their wedding day, as seen through our eyes ….

Wedding in Central Italy: Santo Stefano di Sessanio

SEPTEMBER 2014. As a destination wedding photographer in Italy, I have been asked to shoot a wedding in Santo Stefano di Sessanio, in the province of L’Aquila, Central Italy.

I’ts not the first time for me in this small town surrounded by the mountains of the Abruzzo National Park. The chosen venue is Sextantio, Albergo Diffuso, a “diffused hotel” whose rooms are houses of a historical, medieval village, only partially reformed. A very seductive set for me, as a lover of the photojournalistic, spontaneous, reportage style.

This time I meet a couple from Texas, USA. I suddenly fall in love with their happiness, simplicity, sweetness of the whole family and their sense of fun. Not every day, indeed, you meet a couple getting married dressing Converse shoes for the ceremony, both the bride and the groom! And this was only the beginning…

Enjoy this small selection and, if not enough, find out more pictures about this story on my website: www.alessandroavenali.com
