Kingston Maurward wedding in Dorset

A spring wedding and the first outdoor ceremony of the season as a Kingston Maurward wedding photographer.

Such a great couple to share the day with as they were so animated and easy to work with. Think its has to be one of my best confetti shots to date with the Bride just beaming her head off! So many enjoyable aspects to the day, from a friend of the bride serenading her down the aisle and singing Etta James ‘At last’ for the first dance, to two great memorable documentary shots being given.

One of the couple at the top table and a tender moment between them and their daughter and another from the speeches, with the step father paying tribute and catching both the Bride and Groom’s mother biting their lips and trying to hold back the tears!

Yael + Micha | Jewish Wedding in Venice

Jewish weddings are not very common in Italy – especially such lovely couples and such breath-taking venues!

Yael and Micha came from Tel Aviv to celebrate their wedding in the amazing city of Venice. They rent a typical Venetian mansard flat in Campo Santa Margherita – notice the beautiful small terrace on the roof! Yael and Micha got ready separately, and met on the terrace once they were both dressed for the wedding. That moment was absolutely lovely – the emotion and excitement the spouses were feeling was spread in the air!

Yael and Micha walked to the Synagogue passing the smallest calles of Venice. They had the chance to admire the beauty of the city from the eye of a native, because we led them through the most unknown venues to show them the hidden pearls of the Lagoon City, while having a small photo session.

Once we arrived at the small Campo before the Synagogue, the spouses and their guests had a small apéritif.
Yael entered the Synagogue first, and waited for Micha in the Kallah, the Bride’s Room, where her groom came to see her before the ceremony started – this is an ancient Jewish tradition based on the Byblical episode of Jacob the Patriarch, who married the wrong woman for her face was covered by a thick veil.

The ceremony took place in the wonderful Spanish Synagogue, built in the mid-500s. There, Micha and Yael recieved the blessing under the Huppah, a decorated canopy which stands for the couple’s future home. After breaking the glass – representing the destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem and the subsequent diaspora – they were finally husband and wife!

After the ceremony, we had a small gondola ride that led us to the beautiful Cà Nigra Lagoon Resort, the chosen place for the reception, where the guests could enjoy the typical Venetian dishes in a beautiful terrace in front of the Canal. All the best to this beautiful couple!

Pennsylvania Castle Wedding in Dorset

This was a wedding some what different from the usual British Wedding.

Spectacular weather and an outside ceremony, things normally associated with destination weddings – well any destination really apart from the UK!

A wedding with a great young couple, full of fun having a ceremony reflecting both their Spanish and British backgrounds.

Having worked at the venue  on multiple occasions as a Pennsylvania Castle Wedding Photographer, I recall each time as a distinct pleasure, with me capturing some outstanding imagery.

Pennsylvania Castle is a unique cliff top location over looking the World famous jurassic coastline, offering a  breathtaking Ocean meets Sky backdrop.

Margisel & Oliver were dream clients – easy going, wanting natural, relaxed, documentary photography – there were no demands.  A great day at a beautiful castle with wonderful people!
