Jen & Andrew’s Tea Party Wedding UK

It’s been a while since our last post, we’ve got quite used to being swamped this year but taking some time out for our anniversary has meant we’ve had no time to update the blog at all! We’ll try our best to catch up next month but for now we’d like to share Jen and Andrews wedding with you all.

This wedding is one we’ve been really eager to post, not just because it reminds us of warmer days which it seems unlikely we’ll get again for a good few months. We loved everything about Jen and Andrew’s big day, from the morning’s bacon sandwiches right through to the evening dancing where we found ourselves not really wanting to head home (Although our feet would have protested).

We’ve often said that we feel incredibly lucky to get such great couples to photograph, it makes our job so much easier because we don’t really treat what we do as work. One of the things we love is that the couples that book us, aside from being fantastic people, have fantastic relationships. When we get home and upload the photos it’s clear to see just how much the day means to everyone involved. Jen and Andrew were the perfect example of this, there were so many ‘moments’ to choose from, excited friends and family, thoroughly entertaining groomsmen and the looks shared between the dapper groom and beautiful bride.

The ceremony took place at All Hallows Church in Almondbury and the reception was held at the incredible Crow Hill in Marsden. We hadn’t shot a wedding at Crow Hill before but we were blown away by the eclectic decorations (And the vintage camera collection!) and we can see why Jen and Andrew loved it so much. Suffice to say this is a wedding we’ll remember for a long time to come and a couple who we’ll remember for much longer than that!

PHOTOGRAPHY- is indeed an art, it expresses thoughts beyond human understanding can comprehend. It is also perspective, (you cannot comprehend what it means unless you know have felt/ perceive the thoughts that it conveys. It is really an art of creation and perpetual understanding.

Middleton Lodge Wedding in North Yorkshire by York Place Studios

This was our first visit to Middleton Lodge and we had such a fabulous time photographing Stuart and Sophie’s wedding day. There was clay pigeon shooting in the morning, an intimate and emotional outdoor ceremony, brilliantly comedic speeches (our favourite bit was when the best man emerged with two photographs, one of a younger Stuart and the other Coronation Street’s Bet Lynch!) and a spectacular fireworks display which had everyone whooping!

Summer Wedding in Venice, Italy – Olga and Bruce

The journey of a truly wonderful international affair celebrating Olga and Bruce’s big day in Venice began back in the spring, when we received the golden call from Dubai from an exited couple at the end of the line asking us to cover their day ready to tie the knot, in Italy’s most romantic of cities!

As in all images, capturing the style, dynamics and character that each wedding portrays is essential and equally combining the romance and beauty of a wedding in Venice, will leave us with a set of gorgeous everlasting memories.

On the morning of the 4th July, at the luxurious Cipriani Hotel, Olga and Bruce began their day by gently transforming themselves into the bride and groom, ready to embrace one of the most beautiful days of their lives. Those special little moments are just as memorable and important to capture – perhaps the moment the majestic bride sees herself in the mirror for the first time, the moment the groom puts on his cufflinks or the glances between bride and bridesmaid with a fluffy mixture of happiness and nostalgia! All these play a key role in the memories of the big day!

The Europa Regina Hotel in Venice became the stunning venue for the wedding ceremony with absolutely captivating views across the Grand Canal as we all stood on the terrace. As guests began to trickle in, the magical atmosphere began to grow further until the moment when the bride and groom were revealed in all sight.

Although the ceremony was a beautiful intimate occasion, it really was a “worldly celebration” with an international guest list including friends and family from literally all corners of the globe which somehow added an even more colourful flavour to the day.

Following the ceremony, it was time to set off in style on a gondola ride taking in the magnificent sights Venice is truly famous for including the Rialto Bridge, the Bridge of Sighs and St. Mark’s Square. Once we had snapped our way through the Venetian streets and piazza’s attracting attention with contagious smiles everywhere we went, the time had come to head back to the iconic Cipriani Hotel for the reception.

Nestled on the tip of Giudecca Island, the sheer luxury, style and tranquillity of this hotel are legendary and certainly the ideal secluded wedding retreat. Guests socialized, everyone grabbed a glass and united with the newlywed couple enjoying the celebration of this special moment as the sun began to set over Venice.

For some “Venice wedding inspiration” and to grasp some further insight into Olga and Bruce’s day, we’d like to share a selection of images from their time in Italy.

Most weddings take years of planning yet the day can fly by and feel like it’s over in a heartbeat. That’s why it’s so important to capture those moments and not just the moments you expected, but the ones that appeared by magic.

Antonios and Alexandra – Greek Wedding in a Castle “Philippsruhe” near Frankfurt, Germany

It is a complete coverage of a Greek wedding in Germany, including both candid pictures and setup portraits from the wedding day. Frankly, I had a hard time choosing the “best-of” selection out of numerous photos. This is my first posting at BOWP, I hope you like it. Comments are welcome.

FILIP + PEGGY | WEDDING IN VOLTERRA | TUSCANY, ITALY

A whole day spent with a beautiful family and a gorgeous couple for an intimate wedding in the heart of Tuscany.

After Getting ready in Voltrona, a very nice farm between Volterra and San Gimignano, we have moved to Volterra City Hall Palazzo Priori for a very intimate ceremony animated by three beautiful little girls.

Thanks to the support of the Wedding planner Elisabetta Taliani, of specialdaysintuscany, everything was perfect and the dinner party at the Location Voltrona was fantastic.
