The humidity hit me as I stepped from the Air Seychelles plane late that Monday night.\u00a0 I got my passport stamped\u00a0(a funny shaped coconut with date)<\/em>, bags and a only quater full Kia Picanto to take on the dark roads of Mah\u00e9 to my hotel.\u00a0 It was much more hilly than I imagined it to be with many sharp turns and narrow corners.\u00a0 I loved it already!\u00a0 I stopped for a quick burger & beer at a already closed Anchor Cafe on the way.\u00a0 The French owner lady was kind enough to scrape something together for a tired and hungry photographer.\u00a0 I showed them my appreciation by paying in Euros\u00a0(keep the change)<\/em> and my support with 2 more dinners later in the week.\u00a0 I had to start shooting early the next morning and I knew this was a lifesaver.\u00a0 With a full tank, the AC at full blast and the sea calling from outside, I crashed on my double bed to counter the 2 hour time difference for an early morning start.<\/p>\n

Jens and I met once over Skype, but this Valentine\u2019s morning was the first face to face encounter between a Dutch-Swiss couple and their South African photographer at the amazing Banyan Tree Resort<\/a>. \u00a0 \u00a0We confirmed the ideas discussed in detail by email and I left them to finish breakfast as I started to scout the immediate vicinity. \u00a0It was breathtaking to say the least and I knew it had the potential I expected.<\/p>\n

Patricia came walking down the beach to meet Jens at the specially prepared area. \u00a0The sun was bright and I had to be quick to capture the short, yet intimate ceremony\u00a0juggling\u00a0two D700 bodies, prime lenses and a stack of filters above the sand. \u00a0It was beautiful.<\/p>\n

The rest of the day was spent carefully selecting moments, environments and capturing memories naturally with this lovely couple. \u00a0I thoroughly enjoyed their company, sense of humour and\u00a0intelligent\u00a0conversations. \u00a0My Picanto almost ran out of fuel on the way back from sunset, but by God\u2019s grace\u00a0(and loads of downhill freeing last seen in my student days!)<\/em> made it to the last petrol station \u00a0just in time before closing. \u00a0(The back seat wouldn\u2019t really replace the Presidential Suite and specially prepared dinner for the night now would it!)<\/em> . \u00a0Despite all of this, they kept a high spirit and \u00a0showed their calm & lovely character. \u00a0We finished the shoot on day 2 with a more urban vibe and spectacular sunset from the historic Mission Lookout.<\/p>\n

That Friday morning, I got on the plane a much richer person. \u00a0\u00a0(I know what you are thinking. \u00a0No, it wasn\u2019t the money)<\/em>. \u00a0I had the privilege to spent two very special days with two very special people. \u00a0I greeted them for now, but am sure our paths will cross again someday. \u00a0I am looking forward to that day.<\/p>\n
