I believe in self-expression, love and laughing your ass off. I look for the humor in life as well as the beauty.

Starting out over ten years ago as a music photojournalist, I photographed promotional portraits and live shows for magazines and record labels. At one point, I put down the camera and picked up the bass, playing in a few bands. Turns out I’m much better with the camera.

Everything clicked after shooting my first wedding. The pace, emotion and unpredictability was similar to a rock show, yet my gear was free of sweat and spit and I came home with fewer bruises. The couples were my rock stars.

In addition to documenting events, families and music, I freelance for the Seattle Weekly and shot the Stranger’s Club Directory column for its five year run. My work has been published in Spin, The Seattle Times, Paste, Nylon, Magnet, PDN, Seattle Metropolitan Bride & Groom and on a number of wedding blogs.

David is truly a mountain man at heart! He has traveled to over 65 countries and almost every state in the US. He has hiked thousands of miles of backcountry, including above the base camp of Mt. Everest. He was one of the first registered trackers for Arizona Search and Rescue, worked for the US Forest Service for 12 summers as a Hotshot firefighter fighting fires around the US and Canada, all the while carrying a Nikon SLR with a 50 mm 1.8 lens. David is a fine art watercolor painter and lover of all things artistic.

David lives out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere, NE Washington State. David mixes his passion for art and travel to run a 13 year destination wedding photography business. Kassandra, his wife (of 17 fabulous years!) and business partner, shares his passions. Together they have successfully mixed their lifestyle with their business. They have a two year old amazing girl named Asia! They have photographed weddings in Italy, Scotland, Ireland, UK, Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico, Vietnam, Slovenia and many other destination style shoots.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, photography became an important part of Alexis’ life early on. Seeing her parents and grandfather document their journeys throughout the midwest instilled an importance and joy to photographs. It wasn’t until in college that her passion for this medium truly developed. While pursuing a degree in fine arts she would spend hours and hours working in the darkroom, trying every technique possible. After graduating Alexis worked in a commercial photo lab in Minneapolis, MN. This is where she saw the beauty of wedding photography. It had changed. She was seeing beautiful black and white images that captured the spirit of the couple and bold color prints that drew you in. It was at that moment that she decided this is what I want to do.

Fast forward ten years and Alexis, the owner of Jasmine Photography is living her dream. Photographing beautiful events, creative couples and gorgeous details.
