‘My images draw on the traditions of reportage and portraiture in my distinctive artistic style, depicting my subjects in their natural environment. A wedding celebration is a very special moment in time accompanied by a whirlwind of events and emotions. My photography is un-posed and very natural, revealing a discreet storyboard of your wedding day. Claire was born and raised in South Africa and has been living in Europe for 12 years. She lived in London and Paris before settling in Vienna. While continuously photographing weddings all over Austria in the winter and summer, she has also covered weddings in the Seychelles, Armenia, Bulgaria, New York and South Africa with destinations such as Greece, Mallorca, Chile and Hong Kong in the pipeline for the coming year.

Claire has had several weddings published in German based wedding magazines, and has received Honourable Mentions every year since 2006 for her work at the International Photography Awards (IPA) including Winner in 2008 in the Wedding Category. She was also awarded Photographer of the year by Practical Photography Magazine (UK) in 2005.

She studied photography at Accademia di Belle Arti of Brera in Milan and has exibited her conceptual-photography in Italian art galleries.

In 1994 she began working as a wedding photographer specializing in photojournalistic style. Now she is a member of the best national and international photographic associations, and her photos have won several awards.

I am an artistic photographer. For many years I have been travelling to wedding ceremonies the world over, capturing these special moments through my unique viewpoint as “photojournalist”. A far cry from standard poses and rigid portraits, my work conveys the decor, the charm, the dress, the atmosphere…. My camera captures the full intensity of the emotions.

Self-taught photographer, not bound by any convention, my work stands out not only for its originality, but also for its energy and strength; strength deep and intense. Subtle lighting and almost tangible feelings between bride and groom, family and friends…..my photos tell a story, an incredibly intense story.

Today, I travel the world looking for the best, most intense snapshots. Very hands-on professionally, I have the gift of being able to build simple and complicit relationships with the men and women I photograph, whatever the culture, language and tradition.

As a wedding photojournalist, I see and anticipate in the events around me and react to them.

I try to stay invisible and unobtrusive, in order to capture the real image, and not influence it.

Second, I am a portraist that wants to create posed images that flow. I create images that are unique and special to each couple I photograph.

Originally from Sweden but now based near Malaga in Southern Spain I cover weddings all over Europe and internationally.
