Born and raised in Wisconsin, photography became an important part of Alexis’ life early on. Seeing her parents and grandfather document their journeys throughout the midwest instilled an importance and joy to photographs. It wasn’t until in college that her passion for this medium truly developed. While pursuing a degree in fine arts she would spend hours and hours working in the darkroom, trying every technique possible. After graduating Alexis worked in a commercial photo lab in Minneapolis, MN. This is where she saw the beauty of wedding photography. It had changed. She was seeing beautiful black and white images that captured the spirit of the couple and bold color prints that drew you in. It was at that moment that she decided this is what I want to do.
Fast forward ten years and Alexis, the owner of Jasmine Photography is living her dream. Photographing beautiful events, creative couples and gorgeous details. Her work has been published in Oregon Bride Magazine, Portland Bride & Groom and has won awards from WPPI as well as ISPWP. She loves it when a special bond is created with her couples. They can bounce ideas of each other and get to know each other before the wedding day.
