Janae Shields Photography

Janae found her passion for photography at a young age when she inherited her grandfather’s antique 35 mm camera. She knew from the moment she took her first picture that this was her life’s path, prompting her to enroll in high school at the Las Vegas Academy for Visual Arts. This passion for seeing the world through imagery took her to Brooks Institute of Photography where she continued to expand the foundation on which her future photography career is based. Shortly after graduation in 2003, she married her true love and found that weddings were the medium in which she would express her art. Through her own joyous wedding experience she knew she had found how to apply her skills and creativity.

After relocating to San Francisco she opened the doors of Janae Shields Photography specializing in weddings and portraits. Her images have been featured in The Knot, The Knot Northern California and Brides Northern California. She has also been awarded for her work at Wedding and Portrait Photographers International. She pulls her inspiration for each wedding from a love for the city she calls home, each couple’s love for one another and her background as an artist. Her love of meeting new people and desire to experience new things combined with a couple’s joy are all essential to capturing the details and emotions of your wonderful day.
