Originally from Israel, she has had the pleasure of photographing many French, Yemenite, Ethiopian, Indian, and Moroccan weddings and events. I am an enthusiastic photographer since childhood and I have the privilege of documenting the most important moments in people’s lives.

I have always been intrigued by photography, I studied photography in Milan and I worked for years with great photographers in Italy .

My approach and philosophy to wedding photography is photojournalism. I like to create great pictures unobtrusively. I will record those special moments in a documentary and authentic style.

I won’t spend hours putting the couple in a fashion shoot, I won’t put the bride in strange positions near the groom , and I won’t say ”Cheese!”

My style is to capture the great moments, and those are usually the images that the subjects didn’t even know I was shooting.

I like to meet and know the couple before the wedding, to learn their approach to the most important day, how to capture their sensations and happiness.

I am based in Milan but I love to travel and photograph destination weddings like Venice, Como Lake, Naples, Capri, Sorrento, Florence and Tuscany.

‘My images draw on the traditions of reportage and portraiture in my distinctive artistic style, depicting my subjects in their natural environment. A wedding celebration is a very special moment in time accompanied by a whirlwind of events and emotions. Claire was born and raised in South Africa and has been living in Europe for 12 years. She lived in London and Paris before settling in Vienna. While continuously photographing weddings all over Austria in the winter and summer, she has also covered weddings in the Seychelles, Armenia, Bulgaria, New York and South Africa with destinations such as Greece, Mallorca, Chile and Hong Kong in the pipeline for the coming year.

Claire has had several weddings published in German based wedding magazines, and has received Honourable Mentions every year since 2006 for her work at the International Photography Awards (IPA) including Winner in 2008 in the Wedding Category. She was also awarded Photographer of the year by Practical Photography Magazine (UK) in 2005.

“Reportage and Portraits, both have their place. I cannot imagine the one without the other. The reportage tells the story of the day, and captures the little moments that could, with time, be so easily forgotten. – whereas the portraits are the cherry on the cake – they reflect the bridal couple as they perceive themselves. The most important thing I ever learned has little to do with technology or photographic rules: creating an atmosphere with pictures.

If I had to choose some of my favourite moments of a wedding day, the getting-ready would definitely be one of them. The anticipation and anxiety that pervade the air, lend a special flair to the pictures. I especially love doing portraits when couples manage to forget about me, and lose themselves in each other – in total oblivion of all family and guests.

My work is influenced by a mixture of new school american wedding photography, with its vibrancy and tendency to break all traditional rules – and the classic European masters that inspire me most. I can get lost in black & white work. Perhaps this is one reason I have such a hard time deciding between colour and B&W when I develop my images.”
