My full name is Ray Anthony Iavasile, and I accept commissions to artistically photograph “documentary wedding stories” across the country and beyond. I have two showroom locations to meet personally: Villa Park in Orange County, California and Birmingham, Michigan.

I am motivated by a love and passion to photograph what is real: real life, real moments, real emotions, real people. My style is specifically documentary and often called “wedding photojounalism.” Having come from a career in Hollywood behind the camera, I have taken the good and the bad from the movie industry. I don’t want to create something phony or suppositious, but rather, to find the existent and authentic story, reality with all of its beauty and flaws. I have mastered the “art” of telling the story photographically.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. My work has been published in several bridal magazines and I am listed in several preferred vendor lists from prominent venues. I have held memberships with PPA, WPPI, WPJA, and ISPWP. I have also been the recipient of the Top Knots Wedding and Event Photography award as well as Wedding Wire’s Brides’ Choice awards.

Photojournalism meets Fashion Editorial

I studied painting and graphic design before dedicating myself to photography. I then assisted many reputable fashion and advertising photographers in Europe and the US.

After years in advertising, the combination of lifestyle and reportage was a natural development. Add to this my love for European cinema and the natural fashion styles of Bruce Weber and Arthur Elgort – that’s me in a nutshell.

I react to authenticity – this is the main ingredient I strive for in my images. I am basically a lifestyle photographer – and what could be more lifestylish than a wedding?

Since specialising in Wedding Photography, I have never looked back. This has become the genre best suited to my shooting style and my personality.

I love Life. I love Love. I shoot Love. In fact I shoot LOVELIFE.

Justine Ungaro’s signature style of of clean, modern, classic wedding photography keeps her up in the air between the two US coasts as well as everywhere in between and at times abroad. One part adventurer, one part pajama-clad homebody, she has a chameleon-like ability to blend seamlessly into each wedding and practically disappears. Until she resurfaces again with a collection of timeless wedding imagery that is unique and personal to that couple while stylistically still very much her own. Justine operates with a singular principle above all others, that wedding photography should be flattering to the subjects, because after all…everyone wants to look good. Eight years of working with brides and grooms and families and then being on the other side of the camera as a bride herself have taught her more than a few things about weddings.

Having grown up in Washington DC as the daughter of a photographer, Justine now lives in Los Angeles with her husband and 2 maltese dogs. Most recently her work was published in Martha Stewart Weddings, In Touch Weekly and People Magazine. Justine also won top honors in the 2010 WPPI 16×20 Print Competition and in 2009 photographed the wedding of former American Idol judge Kara Dioguardi as well as the wedding of singer/ songwriter Lisa Loeb.
