Wedding at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport Maine.

Wedding at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport

If you are looking for a beautiful luxury hotel on the beach in Kennebunkport for your Wedding,  then the Colony Hotel may be a good fit!   Having your Wedding at the Colony Hotel gives you a beautiful ceremony overlooking the ocean,  as well as an elegant ballroom to have the reception.

Weddings at the Colony Hotel are Amazing!  Being an ocean lover myself,  I’m a sucker for venues with views of the fantastic waves crashing along the shore.   But what makes me love being a New England Wedding photographer isn’t just the venues.  It’s the awesome couples I get to work with.  This couple was no different.   They are amazing! Kate and Mike’s Wedding was stunning! And I have here a few of their Light and Airy Wedding Photos to show you!!

These guys are a down-to-earth couple who envisioned having a laid back,  yet classy Wedding.   They certainly fulfilled their vision, surrounded by friends and family they love most!!

Covid 19 and my thoughts

Hi – We are Mick and Ash from MIKI Studios, an award-winning and destination wedding photographer from London, UK. We capture the wedding on photo and film together within the same studio. We thought we would take some time to write down our thoughts about the industry and the impact of COVID 19.

COVID 19 is hitting everyone young and old, across every industry which is totally unprecedented. Most crises don’t impact in the way COVID 19 has across the World. That means we are truly ‘all in this together’. Right from the outset, our couples are being impacted as much (or even more) in most cases than us. Meaning everyone seems to be really supportive, considerate and helpful to each other. We are not going into conversations on the attack or defence. We have been totally open with our couples and we believe we have gone above and beyond to make the whole situation as easy as possible for everyone. 95% of all our communication has been over the phone and not behind email. Every one of our couples has appreciated that we have taken the lead on open and honest communication.

This is a very dramatic short term hit, there is no doubt about it. However, the probability is the economy and the wedding industry will bounce back pretty quickly (12 months or so), the same amount of people will still get married and still want the part of their lives! We will lose great companies in the industry along the way which is very unfortunate and sad, but those that survive will be stronger and more resilient. Things that will change in the short term is companies trying to protect themselves from being in this situation again, whether that’s larger deposits or requesting full payment earlier but in the medium term, we will probably all start to forget what this felt like and the pendulum will swing back to a more ‘normal’ position.

This is the time to get your house (or business) in order. Whether that is accounting, branding, website, SEO etc. This is not the time to take your foot off the gas and sit and mope about how the government should or shouldn’t have down things differently. Businesses that use this time to get an advantage on their competitors no matter how small will come out of this situation better and more prepared to hit the ground running. For us, we are still working as hard, if not harder than ever. We are focusing on the things we can impact like on the back end of the website, branding and improving the areas of the business most people won’t see (other than our couples) on making our couples experience the best we can. SEO is a long game so the benefits won’t be seen for months to come but it’s like planting seeds, you cant expect crops to grow if you don’t plant them and water them frequently.

Wedding at Trebbiolo Relais

Emma and Antonie are a French couple who chose Tuscany to get married. The young couple decided the Trebbiolo Relais, an ancient villa in the Chianti region, to celebrate their wedding. Trebbiolo Relais is a lovely place, one of our preferite wedding venues in Italy. Together with over one hundred guests, they had a great party. In the afternoon, there was a long symbolic ceremony, with long speeches from relatives and friends. Afterward, there was an aperitif full of marvelous things to eat. There were a lovely sunset and a great dinner with toast and moving speeches.

LakeFalls Lodge – New Hampshire Wedding Venue

If you want a beautiful venue… with lots of options,  then LakeFalls Lodge is one to consider!  Being a wedding photographer,  I get to see many venues, but I have to admit.  LakeFalls Lodge is one of my favorites

The property has 250 acres of pristine land,  a beautiful lake (with a waterfall), and several lodging choices right on site.   Most couples book the venue for the entire weekend.  This allows the wedding party and immediate family to stay right on location.   The rest of your guests can be bussed in from the local City of Keene.  (Only 15 minutes away)

The owner of the property is always on hand to help with setups and questions.  There is even an option to add on an exciting Fireworks display at the end of the evening as well!

Although Lindsay and Tyler had their wedding in New Hampshire,  they opted to have a Mediterranean Style theme!   They decorated the ceremony location with an abundance of flowers.  For the Tent Reception,  they added lots of Yellows and lemons to bring in the ‘feels.’     I love being a Wedding Photographer because even though I’m located here… I get to travel all over to photograph amazing people and their incredible stories.

This wedding was also published on The Knot!

GrandView Estates – New England Wedding Venue

I absolutely LOVE being a New England Wedding Photographer!  For starters,  we get to enjoy the beauty that all four seasons provide.   While, admittedly so, I’m more of a summer girl- I do admit that each season has its own beautiful characteristics.    And here I have a fall wedding that I photographed at the GrandView Estates in Jaffrey NH.

The GrandView Estates is a premier New England Wedding Venue, where I get to photograph frequently.   It offers a wonderfully quaint onsite Bed & Breakfast, along with a pavilion for weddings to happen even during poor weather.   Additionally it has the most breathtaking view of Mt.  Monadnock.  (Which just so happens to be the world’s 2nd most climbed mountain.   Mt. Fuji is the first!)

Fall Weddings in NH are beautiful for so many reasons.   As you may know,  New England is known for its colorful foliage.  And the weather tends to be pretty mild as well- making it the perfect time of year to have a wedding.   This couple though didn’t have the traditional fall colors.  They infused nice, light and airy pastels into their theme which balanced perfectly with the otherwise known ‘burnt-like’ colors of autumn.

This wedding was purely DIY.  They did everything themselves.  (Aside from the cooking! ha)   All the decor, even the flowers were all done by the loved ones of the couple.   The Arbor, the signage and the tablescapes were all hand-crafted by the couple.    So I encourage you to take a peek!   Be sure to check out the full blog post:  Marielle + Tim’s Fall Wedding At the Grandview Estates.

I may be a New England Wedding Photographer,  but I do travel all over to photograph weddings.    Please be sure to get in touch if you are interested in having beautiful Light and Airy photographs telling your story!!
