SS Great Britain – Cara and Harvey’s Bristol Wedding Photography

Harvey spends his life as the captain of a luxury yacht somewhere very hot and beautiful with Cara on board alongside him as the cordon bleu chef so it seemed only right that they should have a nautically themed Bristol wedding. And what better place than Bristol’s SS Great Britain – a completely different, historical, quintessentially British venue with brilliant opportunities for daringly different photographs for those daringly different.

We were on board the ship from beginning to end (apart from Cara’s bridal prep across the water in the morning…) and really made the most of what it had to offer. Have a look for yourself…

Gloucestershire Wedding – The Bear of Rodborough, Rodborough Common

As someone who moved from London only two years ago, Rodborough Common is probably the place that first made me think I’d made the right decision: stunning scenery, great pub and hotel (The Bear of Rodborough) and a really beautiful place for photography. So when I got a call from James and Sarah asking me to photograph their Gloucestershire wedding there then I was of course thrilled, especially when they agreed to venture out on a little excursion up on to the common for some really special moments with that backdrop.

Their wedding was of course wonderful but it is the pictures on Rodborough Common that really made their day and I’m sure wedding album…

Julia & Dave’s York Hosbitium Wedding, UK

Julia and Dave were referred to us by Vicki and Scott whose lovely wedding we covered earlier this year. Both couples chose York for their wedding with Julia and Dave opting for the Hospitium in the Museum Gardens. The Hosbitium is a beautiful building dating back to 1300AD, it is not known exactly what it was used for however we can see why it was transformed into a wedding venue, the location is stunning and it has a great atmosphere to it. Their engagement shoot was in the same location and proved to be incredibly busy in the height of Summer, maybe adding to the nerves of having their photograph taken with hundreds of onlookers! Luckily their wedding day was a lot less crowded, we had the whole of the Museum Gardens to ourselves. Julia looked amazing in her vintage inspired Jenny Packham dress and it was great to see Dave’s nerves appear just before she walked into the ceremony! It was an amazing day full of lovely guests and family, we wish them all the best in the future and hope you all enjoy looking through their day!

Lartington Hall Wedding in County Durham by York Place Studios

From their very first email it was clear how much Claire and Chris connected with our work and how much fun their wedding day was going to be! Highlights included the bus ride with all the guests and our gorgeous bride and groom, the comedic lads at the cigar party, the crazy dancing at the end of the night and loads of green sparkling confetti at one of the most fun couple sessions we have ever photographed. we are still finding all kinds of green sparkles in our bags three months later but it was completely worth it!

Stella & Dom’s New Years Eve Wedding

Stella and Dom got married at Ilkley Winter Gardens, North Yorkshire on New Year’s Eve. We never really get up to much on New Year’s Eve so when Stella and Dom enquired we jumped at the chance to capture their special day. Leading up to the date we had talked to Stella and Dom about all the photographic opportunities that there might be on the day, including sparklers and some night time confetti cannons. We try not to get too excited before weddings just incase they don’t live up to our expectations, but Stella and Dom’s wedding was the complete opposite! Throughout the day there were so many happy moments and amazing locations to capture we were spoilt for choice!

Stella and Dom had gone to great effort to make sure everything was perfect, making sure the venue was lit beautifully and the decorations suited the theme. With a black tie dress code and the bridesmaids dressed in floor length gowns it really did feel like old school Hollywood Glamour! Stella looked amazing and it was great to see all their friends and family share their day with them. When midnight struck and the confetti cannons went off we both wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else, it was a pleasure to shoot and a true testament to how much we love what we do!
