Boho Wedding Style Shoot in Santorini

If you are into romantic, dreamy weddings, youthful, fresh style, feminine, ethereal, free-flowing wedding dresses made from natural fabrics, floral patterns, headbands and flower wreaths, livened up with casual gypsy touches, in other words if you are fascinated by Boho style, you are looking at the right blog post!

The idea of a Boho style wedding theme shoot came up during a conversation with Maria about Kelly and Stan’s Elopement and the legendary natural beauty of Santorini was the ideal setting. The talented team of Tie the Knot in Santorini created a perfect wedding inspiration décor with their choice of color and flower combinations. The pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, the fabulous weather, the breathtaking landscape and Marianna’s radiant face and captivating beauty ensured the result we all wished for.

It was a most fulfilling and exciting experience, and I hope I can do this again in the future.

Wedding in Athens – Greece

It is true that the wedding destinations chosen most often by couples wishing to realize their dream of getting married in Greece, the land of ancient myths and legends, are the Aegean islands and certain mainland coastal resorts. But Athens, the oldest continuously inhabited European city, famous not only for its rich history and great monuments but also for its vibrant nightlife, does have its charm. This is one of the reasons Nayia and Nick chose to have their dream wedding in the Greek capital.

The preparation of the bride took place in the luxurious environment of King George Hotel, a historic landmark in the center of the city that never sleeps at night. Nayia and her six bridesmaids, who were photographed first in flower-patterned robes and then in their cute bridesmaid dresses, drank champagne, exchanged jokes and turned a traditional process into an experience to remember. And the bride was simply stunning in her splendid wedding dress and her gorgeous Louboutin bridal shoes. The groom, who got ready in a classy downtown flat, and his groom mates had an equally good time. They were all very handsome in their tuxedos and the groom’s presents: cufflinks with the face of Alexander the Great and socks with the UK national colors.

The wedding was held at the imposing church of Agios Dionysios Areopagitis, in Kolonaki, a trendy upmarket district of Athens. The bride was chauffeured to the church in a stylish white Rolls Royce, while a limousine had been hired for the bridal party. Nayia’s sister welcomed her at the stairs with a sign reading “Here comes the bride.” A Byzantine choir sang during the ceremony, creating a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere, and when the newlyweds made their exit, they were showered with rice, according to the old custom symbolizing prosperity, fertility, and good luck.
The venue chosen for the wedding reception was Island Private House, a chic seaside event complex half an hour from the city. The beautiful decoration was set off nicely against the slightly overcast sky. Nayia and Nick’s wedding vision was planned, coordinated and executed by the Event Company and videography by George Zorbas, while their elegant wedding invitations were created by Atelier Invitations.

Dear Nayia & Nick, thank you for trusting me to capture the most memorable moments of your big day. I wish you endless happiness and a wonderful life together!

Engagement photoshoot in Santorini

Santorini, Greece, is truly the stuff dreams and fairytales are made of: an incredibly beautiful volcanic island surrounded by the crystal clear blue waters of the Aegean, bathed in the bright Greek sunlight and enveloped in the magic of ancient myths and legends. No wonder it is one of the most popular wedding destinations worldwide! This is the place Jin and Nancy chose for their engagement photoshoot. The lovely young Asian couple, who traveled all the way from Los Angeles, had planned everything down to the smallest detail… Except for one little detail that Nancy was not aware of: Jin intended to take her to her favorite restaurant… and propose to her over dinner! He informed me of his intentions through a separate e-mail, and I was delighted that I would witness such a unique moment. I got to the restaurant a few minutes before them and prepared to capture the scene with my camera. My heart was pounding in excitement. A sweet couple in love and a surprise marriage proposal in one of the most romantic places in the world is the best theme a wedding photographer could wish for! Everything went according to plan. And naturally, she said yes…

The photoshoot of the following day went perfectly smoothly too. Nancy and Jin, against a backdrop of blue skies and seas and the dazzling white of the traditional Cycladic architecture, looked awesome together. And thanks to them, their photos could be nothing less than awesome!

Dear Nancy & Jin, thank you so much for honoring me with your trust and for allowing me to tell your beautiful love story through the lens of my camera.

Wedding in Ios Greece

Every single wedding that I have attended as professional wedding photographer reminds me why I should be immensely thankful for my job; for nothing compares to the emotional fulfilment you experience when you witness the joy and happiness of people gathered to celebrate the big day of a couple in love, especially when you know that your pictures will contribute to keeping these unique moments alive forever.

Kirby and Tey decided to tie the knot in Ios. Ios is one of the most popular Cycladic islands, famous both for its golden beaches and for its intense nightlife that has earned it the title of the best party island in Greece, if not in the whole Mediterranean. For Kirby and Tey’s guests partying started right from the very first day, during an awesome catamaran sailing trip, with lots of drinks, dance music and swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Aegean. The happy couple chose an original way to make promises of love and devotion to each other: they exchanged symbolical necklaces. It was one of the most beautiful and tender scenes I have ever seen.

The wedding was held in the Odysseas Elytis amphitheater, an ancient type open theater with great acoustics that the couple happens to have a very strong connection with. The ceremony harmoniously combined modern and traditional elements, the most striking of which were the exquisite lace wedding dress of the lovey bride and the traditional Ghana clothes of the groom’s parents. The wedding celebrations culminated in the VIP party, where the lucky guests –mostly young people, friends of the newlyweds from all over the world– had a fabulous time.

Dear Kirby & Tey, thank you so much for your trust and friendship. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you a wonderful life together.
